Video Portfolio
I’ve worked on and produced a variety of video projects throughout my career, from product tutorials to talking heads to tabletop game productions and more.
Product Tutorials
While I worked at SimpleNexus—now nCino’s Mortgage Suite—I wore many hats as we in the company’s startup days. I worked as a UX writer and wrote copy for the marketing team. I also helped build product education content, especially as clients worked to bring the aging part of their workforce along with the new technology.
Check out a few of my product tutorial videos.
Talking Heads
As video content has proliferated through and past other mediums, I’ve worked with my team to produce more videos in my current position. I’m often times providing direction for the video content my team works on or getting in the trenches and drawing on my experience developing videos for my own company to more directly produce video content.
Here is an example of a video I edited as I’ve worked at University of Utah Health.
Taking on a different tone than that at University of Utah Health, I’ve also written and produced talking head videos for my own podcast company—Legendary Creature Podcast—when we were more focused on video content. Here’s another example with
Tabletop Gameplay
I cut my teeth simultaneous to my time spent making tutorial videos by expanding the Legendary Creature Podcast brand into tabletop gameplay videos. This was a significant journey in learning how to cut down videos, build and use animations, use supporting imagery, and adapt to feedback. We tabled the series as my career shifted to other content, but it proved to be eye-catching at a time when a market was starting to materialize.
Exploring Video
Beyond the functional stand alone videos, I’ve also tried to explore the use of video with podcasting. We’re currently in the midst of relaunching our video version of our podcast and past explorations served as a creative outlet and to find what does and doesn’t work in video production and with audiences.
Here is a podcast video introduction that I created several years ago.
